I would like to take the opportunity to officially welcome those of you who are new to Division 7. Please get involved by letting the Steering Committee know the issues that are important to you and the ways that we may better represent you in our activities. To our returning affiliates, thanks for your support and your input.
This year the Steering Committee has concentrated its efforts on increasing our membership and stabilizing our budget. All special interest divisions are required tobe financially self-sufficient and to cover the costs of meeting minimum requirements, such as publications, educational programs, and basic operating expenses. Our primary sources of revenue are membership dues and short course revenues at the annual ASHA Convention. I am happy to report that our membership has increased and our current budget is sufficient to move forward. We still need to increase our membership ranks, so encourage your colleagues who engage in rehabilitative activities to join us as affiliates of Division 7.
