As Convention approaches, restructuring of the audiology divisions remains a top priority. Over the past few years, the Steering Committees for the four audiology Special Interest Divisions have considered a variety of plans to simplify collaborative efforts (e.g., our joint newsletter in the spring of the year), reduce costs (e.g., joint application for CE provider status), and make the best use of a leadership pool that has many other opportunities to be involved in service activities both inside and outside ASHA. This plan would change only the structure of the Steering Committees; it would not change the missions of the individual divisions. Each would maintain its seat on the Board of Division Coordinators, its own budget, and autonomy in program planning.
